Songs inspired by Africa that your children will love

Songs inspired by Africa that your children will love: The music of Africa has a very unique quality. Perhaps the ingrained culture, morals, and traditions are to blame. Or perhaps what makes everyone who listens happy are the jubilant melodies, rhythms, and beats that emanate from distinctive African musical instruments.

There is something for everyone, even the kids, whatever it may be!

Below are Songs inspired by Africa that your children will love;

Afrobeat Alphabet and Phonics Song For Kids

It only makes sense that there would be an Afrobeats song for kids that teaches the alphabet and phonics given how popular Afrobeats has become in mainstream music!

With a melody akin to Wizkid’s Joro and a sing-along vibe akin to Burna Boy‘s Ye, this clever song brings the fun back into learning.

African Lullaby – Jazz

African lullaby and jazz-inspired music are the perfect combination to relax newborns.

Songs of Birdland, a band of parents who were once looking for excellent music to soothe their newborn to sleep, created this beautiful piece.

The one-hour lullaby relaxes adults just as much as it does infants by stimulating their imaginations as they drift off to sleep.

Songs from the Baobab

Songs from the Baobab is a book to look into if you’ve ever been curious about lullabies and nursery rhymes with truly African origins. Chantal Grosléziat wrote the tunes for this picture book, which Paul Mindy orchestrated and Elodie Nouhen drew the pictures for.

The songs are in 11 different Central and West African languages, and both adults and children played the native instruments on each track as it was being recorded.

A relaxing compilation of African lullabies for children, the entire album is a calming work of art.

Time to Count! One, Two, Three!

For parents looking for programs and music with African representation, Akili and Me by Ubongo offers a variety of early years songs for kids across Africa.

One of their many well-liked playlists, Time to Count, offers 50 minutes of rhyming African beats and catchy lyrics about counting, making learning truly enjoyable.

Inquisitive four-year-old Akili travels on excursions with her animal friends to learn about language, letters, numbers, and art. She lives with her family in Tanzania.

Even younger children can appreciate these snappy, enjoyable melodies, even though it is intended for youngsters between the ages of three and six.

We Will Go

A group of about 20 young singers from Kampala, Uganda’s Watoto Children’s Choir, perform this upbeat modern gospel song as a “song of love and peace.” To promote awareness and funds for the Watoto orphans, the group makes overseas appearances.

Additionally, there is a simple and enjoyable dance routine that will get the whole family moving!
