The 41st President of the United State of America, George HW Bush has died at the age of 94.
His death was announced by his son and 43rd US President, George W Bush.
He was checked into the intensive care unit of a hospital for an infection following the death of his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush in April 2017.
Bush Snr was President from 1989-1993 and served two terms as Vice President under Ronald Reagan. He was defeated in the general elections of 1992 by Bill Clinton.
He will be buried in the Presidential Library, Texas alongside his wife and daughter, Robin who died from Leukemia.
