Daddy Freeze’s fiancee, Benedicta Elechi aka Tastebudz has written an emotion letter to her elder sister who died years ago due to failure in the healthcare system.
Tastebudz wrote:
Rest in peace Uchem, until we meet to part no more. We had so many big dreams. You taught me all the dance moves I knew, from running man to shuffle and go go shake, you would climb the tallest mango trees to pluck mangos for me, my favourite fruit by the way. You tried so hard to teach me how to ride a bike, but you gave up on that venture, I was such a terrible student.
Up until this day I still don’t know how to ride a bike. You taught me how to weave using the grass growing on the hill side besides our home in calabar, I tried but I still haven’t gotten the hang of it up until date. You taught me how to play the recorder.
You tried so hard to make me a straight A’s student when we were in Secondary school, so I will keep representing after you had moved on to the University, I still couldn’t meet up. You narrowly missed a first class in Economics from the University of Port Harcourt by graduating with a CGPA of 3.4.
Upon your completion of the NYSC programme, you wrote, passed the examination and was given an offer letter for both KPMG and Citigroup.
You were torn between which company to work for.
We all decided you go for Citigroup.
You were loved and respected by your colleagues, and even on the day of your death, they still came by as in their usual practice to your hospital bed with the official lab top for you to sign in the pass word to close the bank for the day. You were fondly called ‘CONSIDER IT DONE’ by all your colleagues.
I still look at all your picture albums till date and I remember all the fun times, difficult and trying times that we had been thru as sisters and as a family unit. I don’t know why you had to go, but I can’t keep questioning God.
I haven’t sown a single Asoebi since you left me, that part of me died with you. Life took a new turn for me. There is a lesson to learn in every situation we find our selves in.
But this lesson is not one I wish even for my enemy. Because I believe an enemy also has a loved one.
I miss you so much. Words can never describe the pain that I feel.
I have to keep being strong for our Mother.
She feeds off the strength she see’s in us.
