Popular Balogun Market in Lagos Island is currently on fire as seen in videos trending on social media.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and fire men are yet to arrive the scene as at press time.
A video from the scene shows a building engulfed by fire with thick smoke covering the atmosphere with people panicking at the sight.
This is coming just a day after Kemifilani reported that governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State paid a visit to Sabo Market in Sagamu which was on Tuesday morning raised by fire.
The governor visited the site after returning from a working visit to the UK.
Sharing pictures from the site, Dapo Abiodun wrote on Social Media:
“I am saddened by the news of last night’s fire that broke out in Sabo Market, Sagamu, razing shops and property. I sympathise with everyone affected.
I had just returned from my UK working trip, when I got a call in the middle of the night about the incident and I immediately contacted emergency responders, believing the situation could still be salvaged”.
The governor also shared pictures from his visit to the scene.
