Acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has lamented at what he calls the alarming corruption taking place in higher institutions in Nigeria.
According to Magu, the fight against corruption will be taking to higher institutions.
He made this known through Hamza Ridwan, second-in-command, Maiduguri Zonal Office, when a delegation of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone C, comprising North-east and North-central zones came on a courtesy visit in Maiduguri Zonal office.
Magu said:
“The fight against corruption in the higher institutions of learning across the North-east, North-central and the country at large is not a new one to the Commission. But the Commission cannot do it alone; we need the collaboration of stakeholders like the students union representatives.
“The corruption taking place in higher institutions of learning is so alarming and we need you to notify us with facts and your identity will not be disclosed. When you hear complaints from academic and non-academic staff in your various institutions, you should be courageous to come and report to the Commission.”
