Four members of the selected nine members of the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry has kicked against the decision of the panel giving permission to the Lekki Concession Company to reopen the Lekki Tollgate.
Led by A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, the four members took a stand that they were not in agreement with the panel’s decision to reopen the plaza.
The other member of the panel disserting the decision of the other panel members is; Patience Udoh, a lawyer and human rights activist, and the two representatives of the youth, Rinuola Oduola and Temitope.

The Ebun-Olu lead team argues that it was not ripe to reopen the toll gate, and they are not a party to other members’ decision to reopen the plaza.
Kemi Filani News had earlier reported that the panel gave approval to LCC for the reopening and repossession of the Lekki toll gate.
In a team led by the retired Judge Doris Okwuobi, the panel passed a ruling that the plaza should be repossessed by the owner, the Lekki Concession Company.
Judge Okwuobi, alongside four other members of the panel, including Segun Awosanya (Segalink), Oluwatoyin Odusanya (Director, Citizens right), Taiwo Lakanu (a DIG representing the police), and Lucas Koyejo (from the National Human Rights Commission), came to the consensus agreement that the plaza be reopened.
The LCC had been asking the panel through it’s attorney, Rotimi Seiriki to release the toll gate to them for repair and insurance claims since last year, December 2020.
Following the judgment delivered by Mrs. Okwobi, four members of the panel, who disserted the judgment walked in to counter the judgment, leading to an eruption of chaos.
