Entertainers Falz, and Runtown, have led a protest in the Lekki area of Lagos, carrying placards and chanting #EndSARS against police brutality and extortion.
Also, some protesters have besieged the force headquarters, Abuja.
The #EndSARS campaigners sat on the Shehu Shagari Way, shouting ‘EndSARS,’ paralysing vehicular traffic and wielding placards with the same inscription.
The protesters poured red paint on the road to illustrate the killings and bloodshed by SARS operatives, many of whom have been indicted for rights violations, including extra-judicial killings, extortion, illegal detention and other misconduct.
In Lagos, Falz and Runtown counselled the protesters not to be violent as they engaged security operatives who attempted to disrupt the protest.
The protesters, who gathered at Lekki toll gate, marched to Onikan and Appeal Court through the Nigerian Law School.
The protesters are seeking the dissolution of the FSARS unit of the Nigeria Police Force and demanding the reformation of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
