Honorable Abdulmumin Jubrin has reacted to the FBI arrest of Forbes celebrated CEO of Invictus Group of Companies, Obinwanne Okeke, popularly known as Invictus Obi.
Invictus Obi is currently in the US where he was arrested for scam in tune of $12million as shown by an FBI report.
Reacting to the news, Abdulmumin Jubrin praised the ingenuity with which Invictus Obi carried out the scam.
He tweeted:
“Since the Invictus Obi news broke out, and having taken my time to read about him and the investigation that got him busted, I have struggled to find appropriate words! The ingenuity of Obi is capable of inventing, Facebook, Twitter, instagram, snapchat.. combined! What a waste!
The damage caused Nigeria and it’s people is colossal!Many of us spent our energy attacking the youngman who rightfully deserved all the bashing.But rather than crying over spilt milk,can we take a moment to ask ourselves how we can prevent the next Invictus Obi from happening?
Secondly, what do we need to do as a government and people to tackle the image problem and other general constraints our country and people will continue to face as a result? We can do alot to deal with these challenges. We only need to find the opportunities in this crisis!
I completely do not subscribe to the idea that hardship or difficulties in life should be an excuse to go into fraud like Invictus Obi.But we must face the hard truth! Is there a correlation between WE the failed political and leadership class and the rise of such negative vices?
How about a system like ours both at the community and national level that do not identify, nurture and reward talents, brilliance, hard work. And generally has little regard for merit and level playing ground for opportunities? We need to answer these questions to find solutions”.
