Ossai Ovie Success, an aide to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, has said tricycle operators, otherwise known as Keke drivers, make over 300k monthly.
According to him, the amount they make in a month is way more than what some people working with the government or in the private sector make.
Success shared this on Facebook to warn people against making a mockery of the profession.
He wrote, “Don’t mock Keke drivers, they make over 300k monthly. Keke drivers are making money more than some persons working in government and private sector.
“So there is nothing wrong being a Keke man. If you don’t have a job and you can ride Keke, please look for a way to get one. Majority of them are making over 300k monthly.
“Let me break it down for you to understand. In a day, majority of them are making 10k. Now multiply 10k and 30 days.
“You will see they are making over 300k monthly and you that is working in an office is not even making half of that money monthly but you have the boldness to be taking to them rudely.
Please try and respect them. Treat them with love and don’t look down on them. As a Keke driver, please be bold and proud.”
