To increase couples’ chances of getting to the next stage of the My Big Nigerian Wedding competition, WED Magazine
is glad to announce the commencement of the ‘Social Media Voting’
stage. Every contestant has an equal chance to get to the next stage on
our various social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. If you are not following MBNWedding on any of these platforms, the time to do so is now.
Here is how it works:
Facebook: Upload your picture on our Facebook page and
include the Hashtag #mbnwedding; the Hashtag along with your code
number which is on your url such as #mbnwedding0001; and you and your
partners’ names as registered on the website.
An example is this : #mbnwedding #mbnwedding0001 Nkiru Adamu & Gbenga Okon
You can now send the link of your post on our Facebook page to your
friends and invite them to vote for you by liking your picture. All they
have to do is to click on the ‘Like’ button on your post and it would
be counted as a vote for you.
Twitter: Tweet at us on @mbnwedding and
upload your picture in the Tweet with the the Hashtag #mbnwedding; the
Hashtag along with your code number which is on your url such as
#mbnwedding0001; and you and your partners’ names as registered on the
website.
An example is this : #mbnwedding #mbnwedding0001 Nkiru Adamu & Gbenga Okon
You can now invite your friends to visit our Twitter page and tell them
to retweet your tweet. A retweet counts as a vote for you.
Instagram: Upload a picture of you and your partner and tag @mbnwedding.
In the body of the message of your picture, include the Hashtag
#mbnwedding; the Hashtag along with your code number which is on your
url such as #mbnwedding0001; and you and your partners’ names as
registered on the website.
An example is this : #mbnwedding #mbnwedding0001 Nkiru Adamu & Gbenga Okon
You can now invite your friends to visit our Instagram page and tell them to ‘Like’ your picture
Please note the following:
1. The picture you upload must be that of you and your partner. If you
use any other picture, it would be automatically disqualified.
2. You must Like or Follow us on these social media platforms to
participate. If you don’t, your entry will be automatically
disqualified.
3. Anyone voting for you must also like and follow our pages on the social media platform they are voting from.
4. The Hashtags are really important as it makes it easier to count
your votes. If you do not upload your picture along with the Hashtag,
you stand a lesser chance of succeeding at this stage of the
competition.
5. Your code number is not the number that was sent to your phone
during registration but the number on your url. To get your code number,
go directly to your page on the MBNWedding site and look at the number
in the Page Address/URL.
6. At this stage, 5 couples would be chosen on Facebook, 5 on
Instagram and 5 on Twitter. The Social Media votes have nothing to do
with the votes you’ve already garnered on MBNWedding.com. So, this is
your chance to be at par with even those contestants with thousands of
votes on the website.
The choice is now yours! Upload your pictures on our social media platforms and get your friends to vote for you.

The grand finale of
the competition will take place at WED Expo Lagos in March 2014 where
the winner will be chosen. Lots of wedding vendors have already taken
advantage of this unique opportunity to reach a large number of couples.
