A three-week-old baby has died as a result of dog attack on her when the parents left her for a few minutes.
According to reports, the baby was left alone in a glider
last Thursday evening in Grand Rapids, Michigan, while a group of adults
went to the porch.
Five minutes later, a family member returned and found she had been
bitten. Near the infant was a pit bull with blood around its mouth.
She was taken to a local hospital where she died on Friday morning.
An autopsy confirmed that her horrific wounds were consistent with a dog
bite.

“This is a horrible tragedy and serves as a critical reminder to
never leave a child unattended around dogs or cats,” said Grand Rapids
Police Cpt. Terry Dixon.
No charges have been announced in the case. Police say at least one other child lives in the house.
