The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, recently gave APC chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the authority to speak on his behalf and other Emirs.
This was during a convocation ceremony at the Afe Babalola University in Ado-Ekiti.
The event was attended by dignitaries like the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, Bola Tinubu, Sultan of Sokoto and others.
During the event, the Sultan of Sokoto caused a mild stir when he asked Tinubu to speak for him ”and other Emirs from the North here present because whatever he says is from us.”
Tinubu is currently being tipped to emerge as President Buhari’s replacement come 2023.
He was recently backed for the position by a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
“By 2023 when Buhari’s tenure will be over, he’ll go back to Daura to face his cows like I am doing. But you see, every leader must leave behind a legacy. I will like to see that he leaves behind a legacy of achievement.
Bola Tinubu is my friend of many years. Buhari is my big boss. Bola Tinubu without prejudice that he’s my friend, will make a good president. Other issues notwithstanding, he will make a good modern president because the presidency these days is scientific” he said.
