The Islamic Movement of Nigerian members has staged yet another peaceful protest in Abuja asking for the release of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and his wife, who is is still in custody despite the Federal High Court ruling ordering his release.
The spokesperson of the group, Abdullahi Musa, while speaking to news correspondent on Wednesday said the members of the group are ready to die to ensure their leader is released.
He condemned the unlawful detention of Sheikh El-Zakzaky and his wife since December 2015 over a clash between him, and a convoy of the former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Burutai.
The group renewing their confidence in the national human rights commission to tend to their petition said they would continue staging a peaceful protest to demand the release of their leader.
In the other news, the Presidency has urged that any killer herdsmen found with illegal arms should be arrested and prosecuted according to the law.
Femi Adesina, the spokesperson for President Muhammadu Buhari, disclosed this during an interview with newsmen, saying that is the position of the President since the escalation of the Fulani-herders crisis.
He also adds that every possible option should be gathered to address the situation.
