Rivers state Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Nyesom Wike has donated the sum of N200M for the reconstruction of the burnt Katsina-Ala Main Market in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Benue State.
Fire had during the week gutted the Katsina-Ala main market and destroyed property worth millions of naira.
Wike made the donation in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital, on Sunday, shortly after declaring his intention to run for the president of Nigeria in 2023.
The Governor while presenting the cheque to the Chairman Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Hon. Atera Alfred said the gesture was support the traders.
Responding, the Senator representing Benue North East, Sen. Gabriel Suswam appreciated Gov. Wike for his kind gesture saying Katsina-Ala which is one of the most important LG in his constituency has been under threat of insecurity and other difficult situations in recent times.
He prayed God to replenish Wike and the good people of Rivers State in quantum folds.
