The former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kola Ologbondiyan, has said Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has confirmed that the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, is a “Yahoo Yahoo” party.
Akeredolu had in a statement on Thursday stated that he and governors of the APC are down with the new leadership of the party led by Governor Sani Bello of Niger State.
This is as he revealed that some governors, whom he described as “Yahoo Yahoo” governors, are not in support of the leadership.
He said, “Succinctly, aside from feeling very delighted as a major stakeholder in the latest successful Rescue Mission, I express my confidence in the ability and capacity of Governor Sanni Bello(ABU LOLO) to take APC through. We, the Governors are for the party except for the few “Yahoo, Yahoo” Governors (apologies to Salihu, former DG of the Progressive Governors’ Forum) who were hand in glove with Buni to circumvent the will of majority of our Party (APC) members. Progressive Governors in the true name, mostly all of us, are determined to see our Party through these patchy parts at all cost.
Reacting, Ologbondiyan said: “Governor @RotimiAkeredolu has validated the position of @OfficialPDPNig that the @OfficialAPCNg is a ‘yahoo yahoo’ party where ‘yahoo yahoo’ governors and other elected ‘yahoos’ operate.
“Nigerians can now see that @OfficialAPCNg is a parody of whatever a political party should represent. Come 2023, PDP remains the option.”
