Former governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, has asked his supporters to dump the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
In a series of tweets, Nnamani, stated that it would be wrong for his supporters to lay a foundation in Enugu and allow another political party to reap it.
The Senator, however, expressed his readiness to meet Peter Obi and his Obidient movement at the polls in February 2023.
He wrote, “We cannot lay foundation for another political party and expect to umbrella on it 2 weeks later. NOT in Enugu! Not in ebeano “country” Let’s cut the …,,, and muuuvvvveee.
“Obidient ebeano! Take a break we see you guys after Governorship and State Assemblies. This is a message to all ebeano. We go! No bandwagon in Enugu! IT is game ON!#ebeanoFAM.
“Politics is SERIOUS business. Not romantic Liason. We meet in February. May the majority win Enugu. We can not afford Bandwagon and lose Governorship and State Assemblies.
“Obidients Bye Bye for now. You win we congratulate you, after all we are kinsman. We win we meet again and roll”.
Meanwhile, Peter Obi, has begged his supporters, popularly known as Obidients, to allow him personally respond to comments made about him by others.
The former governor was recently attacked by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, during an Arise TV interview.
The former vice president had said Obi and the Labour Party needed a miracle to win the 2023 presidential election because they lack political structure on the ground.
This didn’t sit well with many of Obi’s supporters who slammed Atiku on social media.
Obi, who ran alongside Atiku in the 2019 presidential election, has now cautioned his supporters against such.
He tweeted, “I most sincerely appreciate all my supporters and those of LP. I love you all. I wish to appeal to you to allow me to personally respond to any CANDIDATE that makes comments about me, while you concentrate on issues to promote our cause of moving our dear Nigeria from consumption to production, create jobs, and generally evolve a better Nigeria – PO.”
