Nigeria’s Super Falcons have begun a training camp in Abuja, the country’s Federal Capital Territory, ahead of the 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco next month.
FIFA, the world football governing body, has decided to increase the number of countries competing in the Women’s World Cup finals to 32 next year.
As a result of this decision, the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) is expected to attract more media attention and global public interest than ever before.
The invited team includes a number of foreign-born stars, as well as veterans and young players from the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL).
Super Falcons Camp open
The Super Falcons camp is now open with Barcelona Femeni star Oshoala among the 19 players available.
The Super Falcons will take on South Africa, Burundi and Botswana in their group stages fixtures.
