Football lovers in Senegal are full of jubilation as their Terenga Lions are headed for the final at African Cup of Nations after they defeated the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia during extra-time by an own goal.
Senegal almost took the lead in the first half. Left-back Youssouf Sabaly cut inside and hit a sweet curling effort on his right foot. The effort was from about 20 yards out in the 26th minute.
The keeper was well beaten but the ball came back off the post.
Tunisia had a penalty appeal waved off by the referee in the 29th minute. Striker Taha Yassine Khenissi went down in the box after a challenge.
The Senegalese dominated in the first half but could not find a breakthrough.
Things got interesting when both countries missed respective spot-kicks within five minutes.
Tunisia missed in the 76th minute after Senegal defender, Kalidou Koulibaly was harshly adjudged to have blocked a goal-bound shot. Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi took advantage of a counter to hit the goal-bound effort.
Sassi stepped up to take the penalty but his kick was weak and low. Senegal keeper Alfred Gomis was able to grab it.
Two minutes later, Senegal won a penalty of their own. Ismaila Sarr danced past three defenders and then Dylan Bronn brought him down.
Newcastle midfielder Henri Saivet stepped up to take it but Mouez Hassen guessed right and clawed it away.
This was the highpoint as the match petered into a draw leading extra-time.
However, Senegal broke the deadlock in the first half of extra time.
Sadio Mane whipped in a free-kick from the right-wing which Tunisia keeper Mouez Hassen flapped at.
He inadvertently nudged it onto the head of Dylan Bronn, who knew nothing about it as the ball hits him and in to an empty net.
There was more drama late on.
The referee awarded a penalty to Tunisia in the dying minutes of the match which he eventually overturned after consulting the VAR.
The Teranga Lions saw out the rest of the game to book a spot in the final
