Todd Boehly, an American billionaire, is slated to attend Saturday’s Premier League match at Stamford Bridge against Wolves.
Chelsea confirmed this morning that Boehly consortium’s £4.25 billion offer for the club had been accepted.
Eldridge Industries CEO Boehly, who also owns the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball franchise, was in London on Friday night before Chelsea made an official statement at 1:37 a.m. on Saturday.
Chelsea’s home game against Wolves will have special significance because it will be the first game attended by the American since the transfer was confirmed.
Boehly defeated consortiums led by Stephen Pagliuca and Sir Martin Broughton, as well as a late £4.25 billion proposal from Britain’s richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
