According to Portuguese sports daily, Ronaldo, who has spent just one season at Old Trafford, wants to go because he believes the team’s new manager, Erik ten Hag, lacks the resources necessary to contend for trophies. He is also reportedly dissatisfied with the club’s progress during the summer window.
However, it is known that the 37-year-old will return for preseason training after his summer vacation, which will be a little longer due to his participation with Portugal in their three initial Nations League matches in June.
According to Sky in Germany, a rumor in the Spanish newspaper AS that said Bayern Munich would be interested in signing Ronaldo if Robert Lewandowski joined Barcelona is likewise untrue.
It is believed that Ronaldo does not match Bayern’s transfer strategy, and the team is still attempting to persuade Lewandowski to finish out his contract despite Barcelona’s €40 million (£34.4 million) bid for the Poland striker.
