For today’s Europa League final clash between Eintracht and Rangers, supporters have traveled from all over the world to see the game, with some coming from as far away as Australia despite not having tickets.
Tens of thousands of Rangers supporters have converged in Seville ahead of one of the club’s most important fixtures.
Police anticipated up to 100,000 Glasgow supporters to go to the Spanish city for the Europa League final.
They will be joined by 50,000 Eintracht Frankfurt supporters.
The great majority of individuals who have traveled do not have tickets to the game at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, which seats 42,700 people.
Only 9,500 tickets were initially offered to Rangers supporters, but more are said to have become available in recent days.
Rangers fans without tickets will be able to watch the game in the 57,000-capacity Estadio La Cartuja in the city’s north, where Celtic lost the 2003 Uefa Cup final to Porto.
Former Rangers captain John Greig, who led the side to victory in the European Cup Winners’ Cup Final in Barcelona in 1972, urged fans to be “ambassadors” and display the club’s “very best” ahead of the final.
He added: “To see Rangers in a European final is something many of us thought would not be possible again, and I’ve been so taken by the incredible lengths you are going to in order to reach Seville to back the team out there.
“It is vital that we all act responsibly and remember the values that this institution stands for.”
Seville Police said they were expecting a significant number of supporters in the city for the match, which begins at 20:00, and that they would have roughly 5,000 cops on duty.
Many pubs in Seville will be closed on Wednesday, but fans may watch the game on giant screens across the city.
More than 400 planes landed in the city on Tuesday, with a similar number (including 16 charter flights from Glasgow Airport) planned on Wednesday, as well as trains and coaches.
