Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League title are all but over, following Manchester City’s 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners went hoping their North London rivals would do them a favour and take points off the champions.
There were no goals in the first half, as the hosts dominated most of the game.
However, City took the lead after the break through Erling Haaland.
Pep Guardiola’s men went in front when Haaland tapped home Kevin De Bruyne’s cross after half-time.
City’s substitute goalkeeper Stefan Ortega made vital saves from Dejan Kulusevski and Heung-Min Son after replacing Ederson.
But Haaland sealed the victory from the spot after Pedro Porro had fouled substitute Jeremy Doku.
