Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has reacted to being cleared by an independent Regulatory Commission after he was charged by the FA for his post-match comments after Arsenal’s defeat to Newcastle.
Speaking after the game at Anfield, Arteta called the decision to allow Anthony Gordon’s winner stand as “a disgrace”.
On Thursday, it was confirmed that the Gunners boss will not be charged for his remarks.
Arteta told reporters on Friday: “It has to be [the end of it]. It was a really good process, it gave them the opportunity to explain how they felt, myself how I felt and the reasons behind it and the outcome is I’m not charged.
“But we draw a line and look for how we can be much more constructive, and learn from it and how to move forward. That is it, but it was good. I felt a lot of sympathy to be fair.
“Once I explained how we feel as managers sometimes, the pressure we are under and how important details are for our job as I love what we do so much and I want to continue doing it.
“But the reality last year was 14 managers lost their job, which is incredible, and we depend on results. That is it.
“When the outcome is that important, we get really emotional about it. Now nobody remembers what happened three weeks ago when you lost a game and lost another one because of VAR, so I think it was a really good process.”
