Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, has admitted that their second goal in their 5-1 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday came from an offside position.
The Norwegian said the goal should not have stood.
Manchester City took the lead in the 31st minute through Julian Alvarez before American centre-back Tim Ream equalized for Fulham just 3 minutes later
Nathan Ake returned City in the lead as he headed a corner into the back of the net.
However, another City defender, Manuel Akanji was in an off-side position as he jumped over the goal-bound header.
However, the goal counted as Match official Michael Oliver’s video assistant confirmed that Akanji did no wrong.
“It was offside. I feel bad for them – I would be fuming after this as well. It must be a horrible feeling.” Haaland said, as quoted by Hammy End.
Despite it being unclear whether Akanji attempted to play the ball, he seemed to interfere with the goalkeeper’s line of sight.
