Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has reacted to the decision of his players to push Kai Havertz to score his first goal for the Gunners.
During their comfortable 4-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday, the players appeared to have agreed that it was time for the German to open his goal account for the club.
In doing this they decided to give the former Chelsea forward the second penalty in their 4-0 win.
Before doing, the Gunners were already 2-0 ahead in the first half, with Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard on the scores sheet
After Eddie Nketiah was brought down in the area in the first half, Saka picked the ball and handed it over to Odegaard.
Then came a second spot kick in the second half and Havertz, who was yet to score a goal for the Gunners, was given the opportunity to find the back of the net to make it 3-0.
Speaking after the game, Arteta told reporters, “I’m really happy for the win, but I’m even happier to be part of a team that shows the human qualities that they do today.
“To show that empathy to a player that has some question marks they warmed me even more today.”
