Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan has finally aired, and it’s every bit as explosive as the numerous teasers suggested.
With no holds barred in his criticism of Manchester United, the Portuguese superstar told the TalkTV host that it was “time to say something” as he revealed a number of things, including his position with Man United fans in the ongoing drama.
The 37-year-old spoke of his love and respect for Manchester United fans amidst the recent controversies between him and the club hierarchy.
Speaking about his stance with Man United fans the five time Ballon d’Or said: “As I say, many, many times, the fans, they’re always, I’m always gonna say good about them. They are the most important things in football, you play for them. They always on my side. I feel that every time when I go, when I walk in the streets, the fans come to me and they appreciate what I did- what I do for football, and for me, it’s the most important in football. The fans for me are everything.”
In addition, he explained why Roy Keane, Rio Ferdinand, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hold a special place in his heart while Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney are no longer his “friends.”
On support from Roy Keane and Rio Ferdinand, Ronaldo said: “That means a lot because I was in the dressing room with them. They are part of my journey in football as well.
“Not just because they speak good about me, but they was there in the dressing room. They are football players. They know how players thinking and behaves, etc.
