Manchester United star, Rasmus Hojlund has accused San Marino players of trying to ‘ruin his career.
The player cried out during San Marino’s clash with Denmark in the Euro 2024 championship qualifiers.
It was jubilation for San Marino players who scored their first goal in 12 matches during the game.
They, however, fell to a 2-1 in the hands of Denmark with Hojlund and Yussuf Poulsen scoring the goals.
Hojlund cried out on Instagram, fuming over an alleged plot to end his career by his opponents.
He complained about tackles he faced from the San Marino players .
“I understand Italian, and I could hear several of them running around and saying nasty things to me,” he said.
“They also pushed and hit me while grabbing me extra hard.
“When we scored they obviously couldn’t handle that, and then they started pushing and things like that.
“I think it is incredibly disrespectful that they hit and tore. Especially him, who is over there [Alessandro Tosi], started to tear me and hold extra tight.
“They knew very well that they could just as well try to ruin someone else’s career.
“I feel that they did to me. Especially the last duel [a flying knee to his back] has nothing to do with football. It is for direct red. The referee had absolutely no control over the match.
“They said: ‘Wait for the next action’ and ‘we will smash you’. So it was more or less a threat.
“I still haven’t seen how my back feels. So right now I feel like it’s okay, but I don’t know how I’ll feel tomorrow morning. People know that I have had something with my back in the past, which has kept me out.”
