Prior to their La Liga debut on Saturday, Barcelona has successfully registered all but one of their summer signings.
Despite their dire financial situation, the Catalan giants spent big on new talent.
They spent £52 million on Raphinha of Leeds United and an additional £40 million on Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich.
Not to mention the free transfers of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie after their contracts with AC Milan and Chelsea, respectively, expired.
Additionally, new contracts for Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto have been registered.
Jules Kounde has not, however, as of yet, been registered.
Kounde was purchased by Barca for £45 million from Sevilla, but he won’t be able to play until the club officially registers him.
According to The Athletic, the French defender’s enrollment is subject to wage cuts and roster sales.
Kounde, who was also of interest to Chelsea, is thrilled to have joined the La Liga team, but he is adamant that he wants to play a significant role for his new team.
“I’m very happy, but that does not end here. I am at Barcelona, great. But I want more, I want to be important, and I want to win titles,” he told Barca TV.
“That is what motivates me the most. With the team we have, we have to compete for every single title.
“As a child, I hated losing. I still do, but I deal with is differently now. I understand that sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. You need to stay calm.”
