Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has made a blunt admission about the club’s failure in the UEFA Champions League.
The France international is currently making headlines after informing Les Parisiens his intention to move on after the expiration of his current deal.
PSG are currently contemplating selling the 24-year-old this summer, according to French daily L’Equipe.
The French star, meanwhile, claimed that he would be happy to stay in Paris next season.
Mbappe, in an interview he granted to Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport, discussed the Parisians’ struggles in the Champions League.
It’s worth noting that Les Parisiens have failed to go beyond the Round of 16 in five of the last seven editions of the European competition.
Mbappe said that he knew there were flaws that would prevent them from winning the Champions League, stressing the need for PSG to learn from their mistakes in the previous season.
“At the top level, for a competitor like me, the goal is to win all the titles,” Mbappe told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We knew there were shortcomings that sooner or later we end up paying for. We have to learn from the mistakes of each season, not to repeat them every time – these are not empty words.
“Individually, on the other hand, I have been maintaining high levels for some years. I want to continue progressing to always remain at the top.”
