That denies him his 300th Manchester City start, with Stefan Ortega donning the gloves instead. There are three other changes from the defeat at Arsenal, with Rodri slotting straight back into midfield after his three-match ban.
Manuel Akanji also returns in defence but Josko Gvardiol will probably stay at left-back. Nathan Ake, Mateo Kovacic and Rico Lewis drop out and are all on the bench.
