Gareth Bale did not disguise his disappointment as Wales were eliminated from the World Cup after losing to Iran.
Wales, who were reduced to 10 men in the second half, were defeated 2-0 by a resurgent Iran, jeopardizing their World Cup knockout qualification ambitions.
Bale expressed his disappointment following the game and admitted that qualifying for the Dragons would be difficult.

“It’s gutting. We’re gutted, there’s no other way to say it. It’s difficult to take but we have to recover and try and go again. It’s gonna be difficult [to qualify] for sure, it depends on the other game,” he told beIN Sport after the loss.
The main talking point of the game was Wales’ keeper Wayne Hennessey’s red card for bringing down Mehdi Taremi well from his goal line, and the LAFC attacker confessed that the sending off transformed the tenor of the game.
“I haven’t seen the red card so I don’t know [if it was a fair decision], but it changes the game completely,” he said.
Wales’ next fixture
Wales face a must-win encounter against England on Tuesday to keep their tournament ambitions alive. They do not, however, control their own destiny and are dependent on other outcomes.
