In 2002-03 and 2006-07, he won the Champions League for AC Milan, and in 2013-14 and 2021-22 for Real Madrid.
With the win on Sunday, Ancelotti became the first coach in UEFA Champions League history to win the competition twice with two different clubs.
With former Real Madrid coach Zinédine Zidane and Liverpool’s Bob Paisley, he became the third person to achieve the feat.
Carlo Ancelotti, the four-time Champions League winner, said to BT Sport, “I can’t believe it.”
We’ve had an incredible season. We had a lot of difficulties in the first half, but we deserved to win this competition in the end.
“I am the record man. I had the luck to come here last year and found as usual a fantastic club with a really good squad with a lot of quality and mental character. The season was top.”
After a night plagued by difficulties outside the ground that caused the kick-off to be delayed by over half an hour, Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Champions League final in Paris on Saturday to become European champions for a record-extending 14th time.
