Carlo Ancelotti has already revealed Real Madrid’s secrets in advance of the Champions League final versus Liverpool.
Los Blancos face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on May 28 in a rematch of the 2018 final in Kyiv, which Real won 3-1 thanks to some Gareth Bale magic and Loris Karius’ wayward goalkeeping.
Real Madrid now has a 13th European Cup, and the Spanish giants are aiming for a 14th in Paris.
There’s a lot of speculation about how Ancelotti, a four-time Champions League champion, would approach the game against Liverpool.
However, the veteran Italian has freely revealed the setup he would use for the showcase.
“4-3-3,” Ancelotti said of the formation he will use, according to AS.
“Sometimes it can happen to a 4-4-2. I think there is no defined system, sometimes to press the pivot, as we did against the City, you go from 4-3-3 to 4-4-1-1. The idea doesn’t change much, just a little the way to defend the opponent, to pressure them.
Liverpool are set to use a similar approach, and they’ve received a much-needed boost with Jurgen Klopp declaring Fabinho healthy and ready for forthcoming games after he was injured in Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa.
Real Madrid’s main midfield trio has been Casemiro, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modric, however Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga have been utilized on several occasions for their energy.
Ancelotti appeared to confirm that Valverde and Rodrygo Goes, who scored the opening goal in the second leg of the semi-final against Manchester City, will both start at the Stade de France.
“Both are going to play the final, it’s true,” Ancelotti commented.
