To sell striker Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, Bayern Munich reportedly demands at least €60 million (£52 million or N39bn).
Lewandowski has only one year left on his contract, but Bayern Munich insisted he was not for sale, despite Barcelona’s earlier this week €40 million (£34.4 million or N25.8bn) bid to sign him.
Lewandowski had previously informed Bayern that he would not be renewing his contract after the 2022–2023 season and that he wants to leave the team this summer.
The 33-year-old prefers to relocate to Barcelona this summer over waiting to become a free agent.
Oliver Kahn, the CEO of Bayern Munich, later disclosed that the 2021 FIFA World Best player would not be leaving the Allianz Arena this summer.
“We would be stupid to sell a player who scores 30 to 40 goals per season,” Kahn said.
“He has a contract until June 2023 and we will definitely have him with us for another season.”
