Bayern Munich is considering bringing Man City captain Ilkay Gundogan back to the Bundesliga next summer.
The 32-year-old has excelled for Manchester City in the early going this season, playing a variety of roles for Pep Guardiola.
The four-year extension to Gundogan’s current City contract, signed in 2019, expires next summer, and the Premier League champions are open to keeping him at the Etihad.
Seven years after leaving Borussia Dortmund in a £20 million deal, sources have stated that the Bundesliga powerhouses, Bayern Munich, are tempted to offer him a route back to Germany next summer.

Gundogan is a hugely popular player at City, where he continues to start frequently under Guardiola. During the summer, he took over as club captain after his teammates elected him to succeed Fernandinho.
It is unlikely that Gundogan will make a decision about his future until after the World Cup this winter, but 90min has learned that Gundogan would be interested in returning to Germany, with Bayern having made it clear that they want to be kept informed of his situation.
Gundogan, whose first season in England was marred by a cruciate knee ligament injury sustained in a Premier League match against Watford, has participated in more than 250 games for City in all competitions. He has since grown in significance within the team.
