David Beckham, who owns MLS side Inter Miami, has sanctioned a stunning move for Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo wanted to leave Old Trafford last summer, but ended up staying with the Red Devils.
The 37-year-old is however expected to renew his efforts to move during the January transfer window.
The Portugal legend has started just one of United’s seven league games this season and is said to be ‘furious’ with Erik ten Hag, who is views as ‘stubborn’.
The issue surrounding Ronaldo’s future has always been a lack of viable offers, with clubs either priced out of a move or viewing the 38-year-old as past his best.
But Ronaldo has been offered hope of securing a January transfer with MLS side Inter Miami planning to launch a sensational move.
Inter Miami, co-owned by former Manchester United and England winger Beckham, were linked with Ronaldo last summer and are ready to revive their interest in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
The Sun claim Ronaldo would give ‘serious’ thought to a move to America, although that may be more due to his frustration at United than his admiration for the MLS.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has publicly insisted he will continue to rely on Ronaldo this season but the former Ajax boss has preferred the pace and energy of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
United are reluctant to lose Ronaldo, who was the club’s top goalscorer last season, but will likely sanction his departure in January if terms are acceptable.
