Fulham have signed Layvin Kurzawa, a French left-back, on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
The left-back position is a concern for manager Marco Silva because Antonee Robinson was the only obvious choice for the position. Silva has pleaded for more reinforcements to strengthen his team.
The 29-year-old Kurzawa, who has now finished a loan from the Ligue 1 leaders, is the answer to Silva’s prayers.
“I feel very, very happy to be here. It’s a family here, everyone is very cool,” Kurzawa told Fulham’s club channels.
“I’ve watched every Fulham game this season, and I can’t wait to play with this team.”
The four-time Ligue 1 champion Kurzawa began his career at Monaco before joining PSG in 2015. However, over the course of seven years, the left-back was only able to make 86 league starts due to injuries and competition for playing time.
In fact, he only participated in nine minutes of competitive play in the years 2021–2022, and his final appearance of any kind occurred as a late substitute in the Trophee des Champions loss to Lille in August 2021.
Kurzawa will have the opportunity to restart his career at Fulham under Silva, whose team has had a strong start to the Premier League season with two wins and two draws from their first five games.
