Manchester United is prepared to reject any effort by Newcastle to acquire Scott McTominay in exchange for Martin Dubravka.
There are numerous rumours that Manchester United is interested in Dubravka as an addition to David De Gea competition. They are focusing once again on the Slovenian goalkeeper after failing with a number of other targets, including Kevin Trapp.
Several sources claimed on Thursday, Manchester United’s pursuit of Dubravka has resumed. They intend to sign him on a loan before exercising a £5 million purchase option.
The Daily Mail claims that Newcastle has been preparing to demand a loan for McTominay in exchange. The arrival of Casemiro has left the future of the Scotland international at Old Trafford uncertain.
McTominay has started for Manchester United on a regular basis in recent seasons. Other clubs, however, believe that he might be better off leaving for a different platform given the increased competition for a midfield position.
Newcastle is one of many who have questioned McTominay’s situation. They haven’t yet added a midfielder to their roster during the current transfer window.
But according to information from The Daily Mail, Manchester United is not open to considering such a proposal for one of their academy graduates. Newcastle expressed interest, but a deal will not go through.
