Arsenal are interested in signing Memphis Depay as Mikel Arteta continues his quest for a striker, the Barcelona striker has become the latest name to be added to Arsenal’s want list.
Arsenal faces the possibility of losing all of its attackers at the conclusion of the season. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left in January, and Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah have yet to sign new contracts.
Depay is only 28 years old, and Arteta believes he can change his Premier League fortunes. Depay’s time at Manchester United did not go well. He can play as a striker or as a winger.
Depay joined Barcelona a year ago. He was signed on a free transfer from Lyon. His contract expires next year, although Barcelona may be eager to transfer him this summer.
Despite being in and out of the team due to injuries, his form has not been called into doubt. He has appeared 37 times for Barcelona in all competitions. With 12 goals in La Liga, the Netherlands international leads Barcelona.
Xavi Hernandez, on the other hand, is eager to bolster his offense. Rumours have circulated that Robert Lewandowski is on his way to Camp Nou.
Lewandowski has turned down Bayern Munich’s offer to extend his contract. Barcelona will need at least 11 forwards, and club President Joan Laporta may be interested in selling a couple to create room for new signings.
