West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has been told to snub Manchester City and prioritise a switch to Arsenal.
Former Liverpool man John Barnes said that Rice would be comfortable with the way Arsenal play football.
Both Arsenal and Man City are interested in signing Rice from West Ham this summer transfer window.
The former Premier League star told Futfanatico, “Arsenal have made two bids for which will probably get up to £100million, so Arsenal makes more sense.
“Not because they are better than Man City but because Arsenal are more interested and I think he wants to go to Arsenal. That’ll be the best thing for him.
“Rice will fit into Arsenal’s way of playing in that holding midfield role. £100milllion for Rice means he goes straight into that Arsenal team as the holding midfielder.
“I don’t think Manchester City are as interested in Declan Rice because they have got Rodri. And I don’t think Pep [Guardiola] wants two holding midfielders.”
