Tottenham Hotspur is growing more worried about Bayern Munich’s interest in star striker Harry Kane.
The Bavarians have made no secret of their admiration for the forward and have set their sights on the England captain.
Earlier this summer, Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann added fuel to the fire by asserting that Kane would score a lot of goals in the Bundesliga. Antonio Conte, Kane’s rival at Tottenham, blasted Nagelsmann for making these remarks and called them “disrespectful.”
Although Bayern have recently downplayed its interest in Kane in public, they have intensified their pursuit of the 29-year-old behind the scenes, and he is considering making such a move.
Tottenham are reportedly growing concerned about Bayern’s advances, and while both they and Kane are still open to new contract talks, none have as of yet actually taken place.
The striker and Spurs had hesitant talks earlier this year, but there have been no more talks since. Tottenham are willing to begin talks before the World Cup, but this seems unlikely right now, and they aren’t in a hurry to work out a new contract. His current contract is valid until 2024.
Kane has six goals so far this season in seven Premier League games, and Spurs are undefeated at home heading into the September international break.
Bayern, in contrast, has had a poor start to the season, winning just three of their first seven Bundesliga games.
