US President Donald Trump has announced that he would be awarding Tiger Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. This is coming after the golfer won a fifth Masters on Sunday.
The victory at Augusta National marked an amazing comeback from physical ailments and personal setbacks. The victory saw him earn his fifth green jacket and 15 major championship.
Together Woods has been a frequent golfing partner of Trump’s since the 2016 election and lives in Jupiter, Fla.
Trump made the announcement on Twitter saying; “Spoke to @TigerWoods to congratulate him on the great victory he had in yesterday’s @TheMasters, & to inform him that because of his incredible Success & Comeback in Sports (Golf) and, more importantly, LIFE, I will be presenting him with the PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM!”
