It now very obvious that the Super Eagles of Nigeria are in dire need of a goalkeeper.
Recent games played by the national team clearly showed that the team is lacking confidence in that department.
Francis Uzoho has been shaky and many fans believe he is not good enough for the team.
But as the team begins its qualifying series of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations coming up in January, it remains a concern to many as it appears Uzoho cannot be relied upon.
The other goalkeepers in the squad include Maduka Okoye, Adebayo Adeleye and Olorunleke Ojo but they are not deemed good enough.

Okonkwo, a product of Arsenal’s Hale End. He has had spells at Crewe Alexandra and Sturm Graz and now on loan at English Football League Two side Wrexham.
Nigeria can benefit from the 22-year-old’s penalty-saving and shot-stopping abilities.
Lawal is the first-choice goalkeeper at LASK of Austria.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper had recently made Nigeria an option of countries he could play for on senior level.
For Atubolu, the Germany born goalkeeper fits the bill as he plays for a club in Europe’s top five leagues.
But he would need to agree to switch his allegiance to Nigeria, having played for Germany’s U17, U19, U20 and U21 national teams.
