Sensational Nigerian singer Simi has come under heavy criticism for advising women to hype themselves amidst what society says about it.
In the post shared on her Instagram story, Simi averred that when a man hypes himself, they call him several names such as chairman, bossman and king.
Whereas when a woman hypes herself, people say she is not humble and being arrogant.
She wrote; When a man hype himself up they call him chairman, Bossman, King. When a woman hype herself up, she’s not humble. She’s cocky. Dear woman, you better hype yourself tf up.
Reacting to this, social media users slammed Simi as they disagreed with her stating that many women have often referred to themselves as Kings without anyone calling them cocky.
Others also added that Simi should avoid misleading single ladies and stop setting standards that people cannot live up to, adding that some women even hype themselves more than men.
