The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) closed in the green despite sell-offs and buy-interests as bulls took control of the situation and raised the broad market by 52 basis points.
The All-share Index (ASI), which closed at 48,988.04 points, increased by 0.28%.
Similar to this, market capitalization increased by N73.26 billion to close at N26.682 trillion, and YTD returns were 14.7%. Since the year’s start, the stock market has increased by 6,271.60 base points.
At the end of the trading session, the SWOOTs capitalization closed up, with BUACEMENT driving the change.
At the end of today’s session, GTCO led 12 losers while REDSTAR led 16 gainers in the market breadth.
Sector-wise, two of the five major indices of the Nigerian Exchange ended in the red, with the NGX Insurance, NGX Consumer Goods, and NGX Oil and Gas indices falling by 0.85%, 0.53%, and 0.15%, respectively, while the NGX Banking and Industrial indices rose by 0.07% and 1.46%, respectively.
