Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo has celebrated his senior colleague, Funke Akindele in a special way on Internation Women’s Day.
Taking to his Instagram story, Alex Ekubo shared a picture of Funke Akindele and hailed her as a heroine of International Women’s Day because she is consistent. He said Funke is a woman who rises more than she has fallen.
Alex noted that Funke’s life reminds him daily that failure doesn’t define a person’s life. While listing out her unique qualities, Alex noted that Funke has remained consistent for decades in her career an indication that she knows how to strategize to attain success without letting any situation tear her down.
Pitching his tent with Funke on her political journey, Alex said she will succeed on the path because she is the epitome of motivation an African girl child needs to dream bigger. Revealing he is a full Lagos breed, Alex tagged Funke the incoming deputy governor of the state.
Quickly addressing naysayers who have pointed at the political party she belongs to, Alex said he is among those who vote for an individual and not party. He assured his dear friend that her dreams her hundred percent valid and should not be dismayed by any other candidates.
Come March 18th, Alex Ekubo reveals his vote belongs to Jandor and his running mate, Funke.
He wrote: “Happy International Women’s Day to the incoming Deputy Governor of Lagos State. You are my hero of Women’s Day because you are consistent, resilient & dogged, you fall 13 times & get up 14 times. You constantly remind me that failure in certain areas of your life doesn’t define you as a person.
“You exude confidence, competence, strength, and compassion all while maintaining beauty. You have succeeded in your career for over 2 decades, which means you clearly understand how to maneuver terrain. You never let anyone or any situation define you, you are an actor, producer, all-round entertainer, mother, entrepreneur, & politician.
“You will succeed in this quest because, it will be a motivation to the average Nigerian/African girl to dream bigger, for her to know that her background should not keep her back to the ground. For her to know that a woman cannot be boxed or defined.
“Your ability to regroup, reorganize, restructure & re-strategize should be studied. I believe in you, i believe in the sincerity of purpose of your political ambitions. Let me just remind you, Ore your dreams are 100% valid, don’t let anybody downplay your dream or tell you different, or try to make you feel inferior or less than a befitting candidate. It hasn’t been done before is not an excuse otherwise the world will remain stagnant.
“Let it be known that I stand with you with my full chest, as a full Lagos boy, bred & brought up in Surulere. I wish you utmost success. Deputy Governor Funke Akindele, that sounds about right. Ruth Kadiri endorses Funke Akindele
Kemi Filani reported that actress, Ruth Kadiri took to her social media page to endorse Funke Akindele’s political ambition.
Stating why she approves of Funke’s ambition, Ruth said the mother of two is smart, hardworking, tough, and disciplined among other good qualities a politician should have.
She wrote: It’s election season! And @funkejenifaakindele is my candidate. Reasons been. You’re hardworking, You’re smart, You’re tough, You’re emotional, Above all you’re disciplined., You dare to tread where others won’t fly., You’re a risk taker., I know you’re a film maker. I trust you will do a good job, YOU HAVE MY VOTE”.
Deyemi Okanlawon pitch tent with Kunke Akindele
Kemi Filani reported that Deyemi Okanlawon penned an open note to Funke Akindele.
According to Deyemi, Funke has proven to be an outstanding woman whom he sees as an iconic colleague and mentor. He noted that she has proven herself worthy with her career and a series of charity works she has carried out.
Endorsing her, the ace actor said Funke’s desire to serve the people is valid. He prayed that her creator will grant her the grace needed on the path she has chosen.

Kemi Filani noted that Funke Akindel began receiving more recognition form some of her colleagues after actress and body positivity advocate, Monalisa Stephen queried the movie industry over their lack of support for one of their own.
Taking to her Instagram page, Monalisa Stephen had shown massive support for her senior colleague as she queried others.
According to the plus-size actress, she is supporting who she can trust as she won’t join her other colleagues to sit on the fence. She noted that Funke Akindele is a successful woman who has achieved success. She asked why those the actress has worked for in the industry are not supporting her while noting that she is young and capable of holding the position she is vying for.
