Nollywood actor Aremu Afolayan has publicly apologized to his elder brother, Kunle Afolayan.
Kemi Filani reported a few days back that the brothers, who had been at loggerheads for years, had reunited following the death of their mother. The brothers had shared videos of them sitting together at Kunle’s film village in Komu, Oyo State, chatting with friends. They tagged one another on their respective social media pages and this left many excited.
At their mother’s wake keep after on Friday, Aremu Afolayan publicly apologized to his elder brother. He apologized for putting him through Instagram backlash and for not speaking to him for over 40 years.
Aremu noted how he didn’t contribute financially to the building of their family’s house, yet Kunle built it for them.
Kunle Afolayan, on his part, had stated that he isn’t just Aremu’s brother but his father. He noted how he was the one who raised him for 10 years and blamed ladies for spoiling his mind and tearing them apart.
Kemi Filani recalls that Kunle Afolayan announced his motherâs death on his Instagram page a few days ago.
He shared that his motherâs demise is hard to accept, but her good life is a comfort to them. He also sought prayers for himself and his family during this phase. His siblings also took to their respective social media pages to announce her death.
Entertainment stars, including Nollywood veterans, took to their respective media pages to mourn with the Afolayans and send their tributes. Actors like Jide Kosoko, Adebayo Salami, Lola Idije, Femi Adebayo, Anthar Laniyan, Lola Idije, and Dele Odule, among others, mourned Mrs Afolaanâs death.
The Afolayan brothersâ rift started years ago when Aremu allegedly dissed his family in the post and called their father a poor man.
