Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has cried out over a public call-out from his daughter.
Via his Instagram page, the comedian and movie producer had shared a video of him on FaceTime with his daughter as she slammed him for publicly embarrassing the Okpocha family. She begged the comedian to stop dancing while trying to promote his movie, as she stated that his behavior was embarrassing them.
“Hello, Daddy, I know you’re trying to promote your new movie, but can you stop with the dance. You’re embarrassing the entire Okpocha clan. Just stop; your movie will sell”.
Reacting to it, Basketmouth blamed netizens for making him embarrass his family.
On his Twitter page, he stated that he used to think he was the pride of his family.
“See what you people have done now, making me embarrass my children.
I used to think that I was the pride of my family”.

Kemi Filani reported in September that Basketmouth had announced that he was beginning a new chapter of his life with his alleged lover, Victoria Eze. The comedian and the TV host had delved into movie-making with the release of A Ghetto Love Story.
The father of three had shared his experience in the movie industry as a filmmaker, as he revealed how he onced had to raise the sum of 300 million Naira for a movie project in twenty-four hours, and he was able to do it. The talented comedian also threw a jab at his colleagues, who solicit funds on stage, citing that it is dishonorable and that they should instead focus on giving a good performance.
Basketmouth has three kids; two from his marriage to his ex-wife, Elsie Okpocha and one from a previous relationship.
In 2022, Basketmouth announced the end of his marriage with Elsie on his Instagram page. He assured to peacefully co-parent with her in caring for their children and pleaded with the public to respect their privacy.
Last year, Elsie gave a hint to the cause of her crashed marriage as she advised women with cheating spouses. She noted how a woman could be beautiful, sexy, and could have all good qualities, and yet their men would still cheat.
In May of this year, she addressed overzealous netizens, advising her to go back to her husband as she expressed that nobody enters a marriage to leave and that for a woman to walk out of her marriage means she must have exhausted all her patience and tried every possible thing to make sure that it works. She warned people to mind their business and know that a marriage ending is not from lack of trying.
