“42 Years Today!
FOR RICHER, FOR POORER
We’ve walked through both seasons of abundance and times of need.
We’ve faced prosperity and adversity, hand in hand, anchored by faith and fortified by love.
IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH
From the pain of secondary infertility to the heartbreak of miscarriage…
Through the darkness of depression and the storm of a stroke — we stood together.
Unrelenting. Unshaken. Honouring the vows we made, choosing each other again and again.
TILL DEATH DO US PART
That part is beyond our control, but by God’s grace, we continue to journey together.
42 years on… and I still want to grow old with you, Soni boy.
Thank you for being my biggest career cheerleader, faithful companion, and dearest friend.
When I tell my friends and family about your good deeds, they say,
“Betty, you honour your husband — that’s why he honours you too.”
We thank God for honouring us both.
It’s been an honour to be your wife, Soni.
In any case, what would you do without me???
Here’s to us.
To grace, patience, trust, mutual respect, and faith.
On God!
To love that lasts.
Happy Anniversary, Soni and Betty!!

She stated that good marriages don’t just happen, and the fact that people hear negative news about couples getting divorced doesn’t mean there are no true happy marriages. She revealed that forever after requires a lot of commitment, empathy, communication, and trust. Betty added that one doesn’t bail at the first sign of inconvenience.
Betty Irabor is married to Soni Irabor, and they have two children.
In 2020, Betty advised women who are being abused in their matrimonial home. According to Betty, marriage is not a do-or-die affair, which is why women need to leave any marriage that is likely to take their life or make them end up in a psychiatric home.
