Caroline Danjuma shows support for Chidimma Adetshina

Nollywood actress Caroline Danjuma has showed her support for the Miss Universe, Chidimma Adetshina following petitions from South Africans to prefer her from competing in Miss Universe World.

Kemi Filani reported that Progressive Forces of South Africa had written a petition to the Miss Universe organisers to halt her participation in the competition. One
Lebogang Shovhote started the petition on change.org titled ‘Chidimma Adetshina should not participate in Miss Universe’ for the Progressive Forces of South Africa on Wednesday.

Reacting to it, via her Instagram page, Caroline Danjuma showed support for her as she noted how there is so much hate and witch hunting towards her because she wants to be a beauty Queen and live her dreams. She said she had never seen a group of people so intentional about bringing a young innocent girl down.

Drumming support for her, Caroline stated that she adores and respects Chidimma and how she has carried herself through the trying times of her life. Danjuma declared that Chidimma Adetshina has her vote now and always and she is her Queen.

“So much hate and witch hunting towards this young lady all because she wants to be a beauty Queen and live her dreams .. never seen a group of people so intentional about bringing a young female innocent girl down .

If her mum is found guilty, how is it her problem? The discrimination, the witch hunting, and the desire to bring her down no matter what. She left to represent Nigeria but it still won’t stop.

Here is my public vote and encouragement to you, Chidinma; I adore and respect you, and how you have carried yourself through these trying times of your life, I know as a young girl, all you want to do is to just live your princess dreams, and NO one has the right to stop you.

You have my vote now and always; to me, you are QUEEN NOW AND ALWAYS.

The devil will do everything to dim your light; you are enveloped with the grace of God and you WON TAKE YOUR CROWN.

@missuniverseng @missuniverse @missuniverseza ..let young girls be who they want to be, the sky is big enough for us all to shine”.

Caroline Danjuma shows support for Chidimma Adetshina

Recall that Chidimma, who represented Taraba State at the Miss Universe pageant beat 25 others to emerge the winner of the night. The model was crowned the new Miss Universe Nigeria and would represent Nigerians at the Miss Universe pageantry in Mexico.

Chidimma’s journey to winning the title was nothing short of strength, resilience and grace as she was forced to withdraw from the Miss Universe South Africa pageantry in July. South Africans had questioned her citizenship and took to social media to call for her removal. Adetshina is born to a South African mother and a Nigerian father.

Guy Murray-Bruce, the National Director of Miss Universe Nigeria, had invited her to compete in the just concluded MUN 2024.

To worsen things, South Africans had a ploy to overthrow Chidimma, as they massively voted for a plus-sized model representing Kwara State, Ufa Dania, to spite Chidimma. The support from South Africans made Miss Dania, the top-leading lady at the pageantry, with 23901 votes, and Chidimma came second with 23422 votes. But trust Nigerians to always come true for their own as they massively voted for Chidimma, which made her the winner of the night.

In an interview with BBC News Pidgin, Chidimma recounted her emotional journey, as she admitted that it had been a hectic one for her. She expressed sadness that South Africans felt she wasn’t South Africans enough because of her name, despite living in the country for 23 years. She expressed heartbreak that she wasn’t welcomed and accepted.
